Cost Accountant
Description Our client, a dynamic and growing manufacturing company, is seeking a dedicated Cost Accountant to join their team. If you have at least 2 years of experience in full-cycle accounting within the manufacturing industry, we encourage you to apply today! This opportunity is located in the greater Louisville market. In this role, you will be working closely with the manufacturing and operations group, providing insight and analysis to drive financial decisions. You will be expected to maintain and improve our inventory accounting processes, perform product cost analysis, and assist in budgeting and auditing processes. Responsibilities: + Prepare, analyze, and report on cost structures, including product costs, variances, and profitability. + Perform full-cycle accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting. + Develop and maintain accurate standard costing systems for inventory and production. + Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and resolve any discrepancies. + Conduct cost analyses to support pricing decisions and operational efficiency improvements. + Monitor inventory valuation and participate in physical inventory counts. + Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts related to production costs and operating expenses. + Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + At least 2 years of experience in full-cycle accounting—specifically in a manufacturing environment required. + Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory management, and cost-accounting principles. + Proficiency in ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar). + Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to create pivot tables, v-lookups, and complex formulas. + Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. + Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
