Cost Accountant (FTC 12 Months)

This role will be responsible for aspects relating to the cost accounting of the UK Gas Analysis manufacturing/assembly location in Cumbernauld, Scotland, UK. This includes ensuring accurate recording of costs, close monitoring of overhead spend, control of certain balance sheet records as well as related analysis and reporting, in accordance with all the applicable Emerson procedures.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Ensure accounting policies align with the relevant accounting standards and that Emerson CP&Ps are followed.  Review prepayments and accruals prepared by GFS and ensure accurate reflection in the Nominal ledger.  Review and lead the site’s non-production overhead costs within CGS and SGA. Prepare and investigate variances analysis including Premises, Utilities, General Overheads and OIOD Ownership of cost centre reporting and reviews with cost centre managers E&D tracking and control of costs, including project allocation management and R&D Grants Preparation of POR including co-ordination of inputs with the site (CGS/SGA; phasing) for submission to Financial Manager for review.  Prepare month end Control File balancing relative Balance Sheet accounts to ensure the integrity of the financial information. Review of all GFS reconciliations done Submit monthly finance schedules including Other, POR (Forecast), Destination Sales, Product Group and Kind of Business (KOB) reports to HFM liaising with Financial Controller.  Prepare relevant metrics for the site to ensure awareness and cost control
   Who You Are:
You will have the ability to analyse and record business expenses, whilst making informed decisions about budgets and expenditure. With financial acuity, you will apply a sound understanding of financial management principles to ensure that decisions are fiscally sound and responsible.     For This Role, You Will Need: Relevant university degree with at least 2-4 years of relevant work experience  Part qualified accountant  Proven cost control experience Proactive, ethical and enthusiastic individual ready to contribute in important start-up phase Excellent IT skills incl. Excel, PowerPoint Knowledge of HFM, & Oracle is an advantage
