SummaryWe are recruiting for a Cost Accountant who supports the Foods Product Costing Team through the maintenance and analysis of Standard Cost and Inventory Valuation.
This is an onsite role.
The salary range for this position is $63,000 - $95,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Develops and maintains proper accounting procedures and controls for Perdue Transportation (PTI) and associated carrier-related spending in accordance with GAAP and Company accounting policies and completion of the annual audit plan requirements. In accordance with the Company accounting calendar, they will prepare monthly closing activities for their assigned areas of responsibility. Duties will include inventory control, balance sheet reconciliations, operations reporting, and analysis. Ensure compliance with Internal Control procedures. Prepares weekly estimates and operating statistics as required. Works with the PTI and Logistics management team to develop explanations/comments and action steps for the improvement of costs and financial controls. Provides detailed analysis to the local management team that supports spending and cost improvements within the operation. Drives ongoing projections and KPI reporting indicators for weekly review, forecasting and ongoing progress to budget, estimates, and shorter-term financial goals. Candidate will be in a dotted line relationship with the Transportation team’s structure and heavily involved in their day-to-day activities. Develop and oversee the implementation of, and compliance with, Business and Accounting processes and procedures related to new Accounting Principles. Performs other tasks as assigned. Experience Requirements and Experience RequiredEducation:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Master’s in Business Administration or Accountancy is preferred.
Experience:
2 to 4 years related work experience Must possess strong math and analytical skills. Requires strong oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of GAAP. Requires an understanding of systems and software applications and strong Excel proficiency. SAP experience, Transportation, Manufacturing, or Logistics experience preferred. CMA or CPA preferred Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment
