Cost Accounting Business Analyst 

 

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Cost Accounting Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. This senior expert will lead functional areas, provide guidance, and drive strategic initiatives within the team and beyond. This role requires strong expertise in cost accounting and ERP systems, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for optimizing processes and achieving excellence.

 

Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a Cost Accounting Business Analyst, you will:

Serve as the senior expert, leading specific functional areas and mentoring team members.Actively engage in expert communities through global calls and other forums.Collaborate with key business functions (e.g., Controlling, Procurement, Product Supply, Legal) to ensure proper accounting within operational areas.Partner with the Center of Expertise (CoE) and Global Process Governance (GPG) to align with global standards and activity splits.Liaise with the GBS network to address R2R issues and implement necessary process improvements.Ensure operational effectiveness of internal controls for financial statement preparation in cooperation with Bayer’s GBS network and outsourcing providers.Drive and manage local and global projects, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.Challenge the status quo by proposing consultancy solutions, reducing complexity, and driving value-added initiatives.Anticipate issues, manage changes proactively, and use escalation management effectively.Initiate and lead optimization projects to improve quality and efficiency.Monitor and ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for accounting are met in collaboration with the GBS team.

 

Who you are:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with 5+ years of related experience, or an MBA/MS with 2+ years of experience, or 7-10 years in cost accounting and/or related fields.Extensive knowledge of cost accounting systems and procedures at corporate and manufacturing levels.Strong expertise in ERP systems, specifically SAP FI & CO modules, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Proven ability to solve complex problems independently and develop alternative solutions.High degree of accuracy, initiative, and reliability in handling tasks.Effective communication skills at all organizational levels to support objectives and decisions.Experience working collaboratively in teams and promoting teamwork.Ability to navigate ambiguity and exercise sound judgment in decision-making.Advanced skills in proactive communication, consultancy, and stakeholder alignment.Capable of managing operations across multiple resources and meeting strict deadlines, including willingness to work overtime during critical cycles.Willingness to travel up to 30% or as dictated by projects.Fluent in English, both written and spoken, native Polish.
