To manage general ledger activities and the production of various financial statements, reports, and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances, and other financial results. Formulates and administers approved accounting practices within a business, plant location or corporate environment to ensure the development of accurate and consistent financial and operating reports. To provide financial and operational support to Operations/Functions while ensuring compliance and controls are in place.
In this position you will have the opportunity to: Prepare and submit Cost of Production (COP) for responsible locations. Approve and post all Physical Inventory adjustments at responsible locations. Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses for an assigned business or plant location. Hire, coach, train, and supervise accounting staff. Develop and review monthly reports; make adjusting journal entries as needed. Compile and analyze data to prepare entries to general ledger. Maintain a system of internal controls to safeguard assets. Provide documentation of internal controls through yearly audits on inventories. Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy in processing month-end closing; conduct quarterly balance sheet review, analysis, and reconciliation. May develop and prepare of strategic plan financials. May participate in the management of Capital Project Management Systems (CPMS); participate in the analysis of determining project viability; oversee the tracking of project costs and other key project indicators. Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations. Perform other duties as necessary. What do I need to be successful? 5+ years of demonstrated Accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated project management experience Demonstrated supervisory experience Or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Demonstrated knowledge of current local, state, and federal laws. Knowledge of licensing and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of current budgeting and forecasting methods. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Demonstrated project management and supervisory skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collect and assemble data for the development of financial reports. Ability to analyze complex information and formulate decisions. Ability to work on multiple projects. Ability to operate a computer and supporting software packages, including the ability to satisfactorily perform all SAP tasks associated with this role. Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; advanced degree in same desirable. Work Environment This position will be remote, working in a home office environment Occasional travel and extended work hours required
