We have an immediate need for a Cost Analyst in our New Unit Projects division.
In this role, the Cost Analyst will be responsible for driving cross functional cost walks from OTR (order to remittance) budget at handover through completion of a new unit project. Come join our New Units Team and be a part of the impactful future we are creating here at GE.Job Description
What you’ll do
The following activities will part of the responsibilities of the cost analyst on multiple projects in parallel:Cost tracking
Development of cost execution plans (e.g., cost curves) by functionsRun weekly and monthly detailed cost reports by project scope Monitor budget line items on weekly basis and identify variances above a threshold that should be escalated for mitigationMaintain budget version control to ensure agreed budget changes are updated in budget forecastWork with budget owners to estimate Cost to Complete based on actual costs, commitment costs, and potential variation orders Work with scheduler to ensure project schedule aligned with cost curves Support Bill of Quantity (BOQ) quantity tracking tied to unit costs (vs budget and latest forecast)Work with business to prepare for PMR reviews on quarterly/bi-annual basisMonitor/track CTC spend/release - leading indicatorsProvide feedback to Sales/ITO (Inquiry to Order)/IPM (Internal Project Manager ( on lessons learned for future bids/budgets - current gapMinimize leakage
Run risk & opportunity analysisMonitor project risk releaseConduct ad-hoc analyses on estimating headwinds cost implicationsCost out analysis
Provide cost out team with cost line item assumptionsSupport initiative owners to estimate savings associated with their cost-out ideas using GE internal cost benchmark dataChange order analysis
Coordinate functional estimates for change order costTrack variance to budget of approved change orders (actual vs planned spend)Claim analysis

Required QualificationsBachelors degree in engineering, finance, or related technical major or equivalent experienceMinimum 5 years work experience in Cost Management, Project Management, Engineering or equivalent type experience / industry (Ideal Industries: Utilities, Construction, Finance, Power/Energy, Manufacturing)Eligibility QualificationsMust be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorshipMust be willing to work on East Coast time zone (EST) hours, possible relocation to Atlanta areWhat will make you stand out:

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $100,100-$166,800 USD Annual.
The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a Variable Incentive (VIC) bonus of 10%.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
