We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Control Engineer to join our client in Paris, France for a 12-month contract. As a key member of our project team, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and supervising cost control activities throughout the life of the project and FEED activities.

Role Overview

Organize, coordinate, and control all cost control activities. Provide advice and propose improvements to the cost coding structure. Participate in the preparation, consolidation, and review of project budgets. Perform necessary checks and approval functions for invoices. Prepare and issue necessary project cost information and data. Identify project cost trends, variances, and drifts. Actively liaise with the Finance Department on all cost and accounting matters. Create and update cost control methods, procedures, and work instructions. Timely report budget and cost progress, highlighting any concerns or problems. Analyse and recommend solutions to deviations and problems. Gather lessons learned and provide feedback to enhance cost engineering expertise.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Engineering, or similar field. Fluent in English with strong communication skills. 10-15 years of professional experience with 5-10 years in a similar position. Experience with project cost control systems, preferably in the oil and gas industry. High level of understanding of SAP systems and project requirements. Proficient in IT tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF management. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyse complex data. Knowledge of HSE rules and regulations. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of budget and cost documentation.

Education & Experience

Degree qualified in Accounting, Engineering or similar field. ITIL or relevant Microsoft certifications advantageous. Minimum 3 years of experience in project cost control systems and IT tools.
