What You Can Expect
As the Cost Controls Advisor, you will work in the Business Operations Department within the Grid Scale Renewables organization. You will collaborate across departments to provide control functions for assigned projects throughout their entire life cycle. In this role, you will oversee training, processes, procedures, team utilization, and quality analysis of all budgeting and cost control functions. Cost functions include maintaining budgets and controlling expenditures through the preparation of budgets, cash and accrual forecasting, variance reporting, performance matrices, and cost categorization per pre-identified Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
Every day in this role you will:
Coordinate and support limited notice to proceed (LNTP) contracts, including detailed schedule of values (SOV) and planned value (PV) distribution activities per WBS, working across departments and with external stakeholders Support project budget analysis for development, delivery, and operational project managers and executive leaders through pipeline review meetings Prepare and publish monthly key performance indicators (KPIs) detailing month-over-month variances in estimate at complete (EAC), total investment cost (TIC), and actual vs. investment note baseline costs Provide project portfolio summaries of monthly cash flow and accrual forecasts, as well as earned value management (EVM) calculations Advocate for cost control best practices across departments, support Cost Analysts in special tasks, proactively investigate issues, and implement creative solutions to support the team, ensuring quality control on weekly/monthly reports supplied by fellow Cost Control Analysts
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor of Science in Business, Project or Construction Management, or related field of study
Minimum of 7 years of experience in project cost controls Project management or renewable energy development experience, with a desire to advance renewable energy solutions across North America Effective written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts and business impacts to diverse audiences, including executives and internal/external stakeholders Ability to manage and foster a team-oriented environment, acting as a mentor and trainer in project cost principles and methodologies, while working proactively and independently on strategic objectives with minimal oversight Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel for creating customized cost estimating and analysis tools, and experience with Power BI for maintaining KPI cost dashboards Direct experience with ERP systems (such as SAP, COUPA) for procurement, payment, and accounting, and knowledge of scheduling software for EVM analysis (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)
Additional Details
This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy Must be available to travel domestically up to 25% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Salary Range: $99,000 – $151,800 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
