Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Engineer with expertise in Heavy Civil Construction to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in project cost management, ensuring accurate estimation, monitoring, and control of costs throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation: Develop detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs. Analyze project specifications and drawings to identify potential cost risks and opportunities. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with project managers to establish project budgets and track expenditures against approved budgets.        Provide regular cost forecasts based on project progress and potential variations. Cost Control: Implement robust cost control measures to identify and address cost overruns or discrepancies promptly. Work closely with project teams to analyze and reconcile any deviations from the budget. Data Analysis: Utilize cost data and historical project information to enhance accuracy in future cost estimates.    Conduct cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making processes. Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks related to project costs, proposing mitigation strategies to ensure financial success.    Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate bids and proposals from vendors and subcontractors. Negotiate favorable terms and conditions to optimize project cost efficiency.       Reporting: Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on project costs, providing insights to management for informed decision-making. Present cost-related information clearly and concisely to stakeholders. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in cost engineering. Implement improvements to cost engineering processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
