After having had industrial hubs in Europe and Latin America for many years, Scania has decided to establish a third industrial hub in Asia. To do this, we are investing in an industrial plant to produce trucks for markets not only in China but also in the whole of Asia. Alongside building this new factory and expanding the sales network, we are also establishing a local R&D organization in China to develop new products to meet local customer needs.

The Role
In this role you will optimize the value of parts by analyzing cost drivers, developing cost models, supporting design reviews, and supporting negotiations.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe Cost Engineering Team supports the Chassis Design Team to optimize the value of designed components.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelors’ degree or higher in a technical field
- 5+ years working with design or production of manufactured components
- 2+ years working with cost modelling
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Professional level in English is required for this position due to interactions with non-Chinese speakers.
- Experience with evaluation tools in 3D modelling software required
- Experience with cost modelling tools such as aPriori required
- Expert-level knowledge of common manufacturing processes required
- Good communicator
- A can-do attitude and curiosity to learn
