Job purpose
The Costing Analyst (CA) will work with the Logistics Team and vendors to manage Costing Customs Compliance according to Fanatics' Strategy.
The CA will be the costing expert for the PD & Sourcing Department. This role will maintain, along with the Costing Engineer, the short, mid, and long-term costing strategy to align with the global sourcing strategy. CA will work collaboratively with the Sourcing team and vendors to meet seasonal margin goals and actively manage cost drivers and create solutions that achieve product cost targets. This role involves solving complex challenges and implementing and improving processes and solutions.
Duties and responsibilities
Logistics Level
Review all shipments to be compliant with customs costing legal requirements. Maintain the Costing database for customs compliance paperwork requirements.Garment Level
Review garment construction with Strategic Sourcing/ Product Development/ Tech Design/ Materials teams for each development milestone. Provide suggestions of cost impacts and ways to reduce costs by working with US team at the beginning of each development season Prepare data, for each manufacturing country, on changes in labor cost & exchange rates at the beginning of each development season Develop pattern efficiencies and suggest the final efficiency by each development milestone. Analyze possibilities for cost reduction by working closely with Product Development/ Design teams / Embellishment (Print & Graphics). Timely and accurate cost sheet completion according to the development calendar.Material Level
Work with Materials manager and suppliers for material consolidation to simplify material procurement and minimize material MOQ charges. Analyze possibilities for cost reduction by working closely with the Material teams. Prepare data, for each manufacturing country, on changes in labor cost, fibers, energy, and chemical costs at the beginning of each development season.Business Approach
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, internal and external partners. Review and improve overall cost processes/systems to efficiently interface with general company strategy. Establish cost model/analysis. Analyze possibility of cost reduction in other service areas: Packaging, Logistics, and Manufacturing efficiency and cost impact Excellent communication skills, presentation skills, and cross-functional collaboration. Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned.Qualifications
Experienced using various costing tools Minimum 5-7 years related working experience, preferably in a business/cost lead position Degree or higher qualification in supply chain, manufacturing, data science or finance Practical knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software (MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Excel expert user Ability to work cross-functionally with team members in Product Development/ Tech Design/ Materials Strong command of written and spoken English is requiredAbout Us:
