Costing Sr. Analyst

General Description:

The Sr. Analyst must act as the single source of cost data for by model reporting. He/she must act as a trusted advisor on cost-related issues to the Program Director, Program Economic Control Teams, Manufacturing Finance Teams, New Model Engineering Teams, Industrial Engineering Teams, and Supply Chain Management Teams. The VCM Associate must contribute and commit to the vision of transforming Vehicle Cost Management team as main driver of cost performance in program qualified models.

Job Responsibilities

Complete by model reporting function and processes, including:

Preparation of PxP (Profit by Product) report for Actuals for all In House costs

Preparation of GCS (Global Cost System) submissions, reporting, and communications with A7G Global M&S Financial Control and COP Reporting Department

Timely and accurate reporting of PxP financial condition to all members of the Product Development Team, Finance and other stakeholders

Promote early identification of program Risks & Opportunities in an objective and independent manner, including utilization of NCO expertise in challenge of costs

Perform and present ROP (Regional Operating Profit) and PFR (Program Financial Review) In House variance explanations by model to PMO and PEC-A VP

Support in all In-House Manufacturing impact by product analysis via changes in production volumes due to demand, long term economic impact due to executive manufacturing business decisions.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Basic understating of cost accounting principles2, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cost allocations.  Proficiencies in Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, basic modeling).  Familiarity with accounting and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion). 

Strong analytical skills to assess financial data, identify trends, and solve cost-related issues.  Ability to assist in creating reports and financial analysis to support business decisions. 

Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with other teams and present financial data.  Ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

High Level of accuracy and attention to detail in reviewing financial data and reports.  Ability to handle large volumes of data efficiently and correctly. 

Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain organized financial records.

Eagerness to grow and develop within the Costing Organization, with an openness to new tasks and continuous learning. 

Years of Experience:

5+ years of experience in accounting or finance.  Internships or co-op experiences related to cost accounting, financial analysis, or general accounting can be acceptable.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
