Costumier Specialist
**What you'll bring to the team** **6 month fixed Term Contract** **Location:** MMM Studios, Acton, London Are you passionate about bringing characters to life through costume and prop design? As a **Costumier Specialist** within our Figure Production team at MMM Studios, you will play a key role in crafting and delivering high-quality costumes and props for our world-renowned attractions. Working closely with the Costume Stylist, you will ensure every brief is met with precision, creativity, and efficiency. This hands-on role involves not only the design and production of costumes but also overseeing the work of external makers, managing budgets, and troubleshooting challenges in the production process. With a significant responsibility for maintaining the quality and integrity of our costume work, you will be instrumental in ensuring our figures captivate audiences worldwide. Key responsibilities include: + Interpret and execute costume briefs, delivering to the agreed schedule, budget, and quality standards. + Ensure fabric and costume elements are robust and fit for purpose. + Source, commission, and coordinate external makers, negotiating competitive rates. + Oversee multiple figures simultaneously, ensuring all production stages are completed on time. + Liaise closely with the Production Team to keep schedules on track and resolve issues proactively. + Arrange and attend costume fittings, critique sessions, and figure photography. + Maintain accurate budget forecasting and updates, overseeing large budgets of up to £62,500. + Ensure compliance with GDPR guidelines in maintaining costume reference files. + Support the team in freighting figures and ensuring all costume elements are accounted for in dressing notes. **This role is ideal for a university graduate or early-career professional with some industry experience, looking to develop their skills in a hands-on, creative environment** **Qualifications & Experience** + Extensive knowledge of the costume production process. + Proven experience in costume critique and quality assurance. + Strong communication and negotiation skills for supplier and freelancer management. + Experience in budget management and cost forecasting. + A relevant Arts/Technical degree or equivalent industry experience. + Ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions under pressure. + Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously. **Benefits** We’re growing fast and alongside a fun and friendly environment, we offer a fabulous package and amazing prospects – ideal if you’re already fantastic and want to become even better (our magic can help here).
