**Summary:** Meta seeks an experienced team player to serve as Counsel on Meta's Data Protection team, with a focus on Generative AI product counselling. The role is a great opportunity for any candidate who is keen to tackle some of today’s toughest and important legal challenges in this cutting-edge area of law. You will be joining an international legal team and working on data protection compliance solutions in a vibrant, productive environment. In this role you will advise our generative AI product, legal and privacy teams on privacy legal and regulatory issues, which will require application of complex and evolving legal frameworks to a new and innovative space. This is a full-time position. **Required Skills:** Counsel, Data Protection, AI Responsibilities: 1. Analyse products, policies and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for AI products across multiple jurisdictions across the EU and UK. 2. Monitor and respond to developments in data protection, AI, and relevant consumer laws (e.g., new laws and regulations, important judgements) 3. Provide full-service support to the wider legal team on EU regulatory and litigation matters and liaising with regulators. 4. Provide DPO, policy, legal, product, engineering, and other business teams with legal advice on data protection laws and regulations including for external communication, policy development, and enforcement decisions. **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 5. Meta requires all employed attorneys to have a law degree or equivalent certificate to permit the practice of law and be appropriately licensed and authorized to practice law for the company in their assigned work location. Unless prohibited under local law, an attorney must hold a current practicing certificate (including where required from the relevant authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned work location) or the local law equivalent bar registration or license as may be applicable. 6. Solicitor or barrister (qualified to practice law in at least one European jurisdiction or the UK). 7. Minimum of 4+ years of relevant legal experience, including at a law firm or prior in-house experience, ideally at an internet or technology company. 8. In-depth knowledge of legal issues in the area of the operation of online social media platforms and AI technologies, including an understanding of data protection law and GDPR. 9. Analytical and problem-solving skills. 10. Experience partnering with and influencing cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed organisation. 11. Communication and presentation skills with proven success, specifically manages to distill complex concepts and translate insights and data into actionable recommendations for leadership. **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Qualifications: 12. Experience working on AI-powered products and machine learning technologies. 13. Prior in-house experience at a technology company or law firm experience in the DP/Tech department. 14. Experience working under your own initiative in a productive environment, providing pragmatic and considered advice under tight deadlines. 15. Experience working directly with Data Protection Authorities. 16. Knowledge of, or fluency in, other European language is a plus. **Industry:** Internet
