About this Role Counsel, Labor/Employment reports to another more senior level attorney within the Quanta Legal Department. With guidance from the reporting relationship, this attorney provides legal advice, services and representation to internal clients/ business partners on the scope of work within their area of focus and expertise. The Counsel, Labor/ Employment exercises independent judgment and is able to perform with limited supervision. What You'll Do + Provide legal advice, counsel, and support on a wide range of federal and state employment and labor issues, such as wage and hour, leaves of absence, accommodation requests, complaints of discrimination/harassment/retaliation, hiring, discipline/grievances, terminations, and reductions in force. + Serve as a primary internal legal point of contact for internal clients performing work across the US and other countries or territories. + Manage and partner with outside counsel hired to assist with employment and labor matters. + Advise and provide legal support with internal employment and compliance investigations, reviews, and audits. + Assist with administrative proceedings before the EEOC, DOL, NLRB, OFCCP, and other federal and state administrative agencies. + Advise and draft employment related policies and agreements, including but not limited to company policies, employment contracts (offer letters), secondments, restrictive covenant agreements (e.g. confidentiality agreements), consulting agreements, and separation agreements + Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures. + Perform other job-related duties as assigned. What You'll Bring + JD from an accredited university. + A member in good standing of a state bar. + Minimum of 4 years of employment and/or labor law experience in a corporate legal department or law firm. + Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task. + Initiative-driven. + Ability to travel (domestically and internationally), up to 15% of the time, and when needed. + Ability to work collaboratively and in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision What Would Be Beneficial (Preferred): + Experience supporting clients with multistate operations, including California. + Traditional labor experience, such as advising clients with union organization campaigns/elections, NLRB charges, contract negotiations, requests for information, project labor agreements, grievances, arbitrations, union exemptions, and other labor related matters. + Experience with affirmative action compliance (federal and/or state) and representing clients with OFCCP and state agency review of any applicable affirmative action obligations.
