We are looking for a dynamic business-focused Counsel to join the Product & Tech Legal Team, which supports Netflix’s product, engineering, and data science teams in the development and deployment of the technology that enables the Netflix Service. The successful candidate will provide legal support and guidance to the Netflix Partnerships team responsible for the UCAN strategic partnerships that are key to delivering Netflix to our consumers. The role reports directly to the Director of Product & Tech Legal (UCAN Partnerships) and is based in Los Gatos. Key Responsibilities + Draft, review, and negotiate term sheets and agreements with consumer electronics manufacturers and telecommunications providers to make access to Netflix easily available to their customers. + Provide business-oriented, practical, and actionable advice to the UCAN Partnerships team to support product innovation and commercial goals with partners. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business development, product, finance, operations and public policy, to support Netflix’s strategic initiatives in the partnerships space. Requirements + J.D. degree and membership in at least one U.S. state bar. + 5-7 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, with a focus on complex commercial agreements and technology transactions. + Strong drafting and negotiation skills with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. + Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with business and technical teams at all levels. + Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment. + Strong analytical skills and business acumen. + Willingness to tackle challenges outside of expertise. Preferred + Media and/or entertainment industry experience. Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $250,000 - $530,000. Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
