Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with the legal teams that support country managers, local business, clients, business innovation and digital product initiatives (such as mobile payments and data products), product development and licensing arrangementsProvides legal advice and support relating to the creation and execution of marketing campaigns (e.g., traditional advertising campaigns, digital campaigns, and influencers campaigns), branded contents and promotions (e.g., discounts promotions, prize contests and prizes operationsProvide legal support for the organization of events, management of sponsorships rights and activities with partners and, review and approve external communications documentsSupport the wider department with the drafting, review, and negotiation of a wide range of commercial contracts and legal issuesProvide legal advice and support relating the roll out of new products and projects, client agreements, licensing arrangements, the development of template contracts, and other general commercial mattersIdentify competition/anti-trust, data protection and other regulatory issues, and liaise, when necessary, with internal members of the Legal and Compliance Department, and/or external counselIdentify the need for external legal advice and engage appropriate outside counsel on a range of legal issuesWork with cross-functional stakeholders across the globe to ensure contracts and advice accurately reflects business needs and policies as they developAssist with the management of day-to-day legal queries and business deals, taking the lead on relevant legal activities with supervision.Manage, develop, and maintain relationships to facilitate the effective delivery of legal advice and assistanceProvide training, to identified business areas, on law, processes, and policies.Collaboration with relevant Global Legal colleagues to ensure that SE Cluster is aligned with Global strategy in relation to commercial mattersProactively contribute to the Legal and Compliance Department’s planning, cohesion, consistency in advice, and the general efficiency and effectiveness of the division as a whole

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhDQualified lawyer in Turkey with ideally 5-7 years PQEWe will consider candidates who have qualified in other jurisdictionsPrevious experience in a commercial legal environmentPrevious commercial law subject matter expert experience.Demonstrable experience at a recognized law firm and in-house environment.Strong academics and training, including legal drafting and negotiating, and relationship managementExcellent written and oral communication skills along with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to work collaboratively in a team context as well as on own initiative to achieve shared goals in an inclusive and open mannerAbility to priorities and manage a varied and busy workloadPositive attitude, high level of integrity and intellectual curiosityDemonstrates global mindset, and the ability to work well in a dynamic and deadline-oriented environmentIntrinsically motivated and navigates challenges and failure with growth mindsetWillingness to approach difficult or complex issues to identify resolutionsFluent in Turkish and EnglishDesirable SkillsPrevious experience of working within the payment industry or a technology and digital legal environmentKnowledge of fintech and payments industry (and applicable regulation)Previous experience of cross-border and multi-jurisdictional contractsAdditional European language
