Posting Number NONAC3352 Job Title Counselor Position Title Counselor Position Type Non-Faculty Number of vacancies 1 Salary Commensurate with experience Department Counseling Services Position Summary The Counselor will provide a full range of counseling, consultation, and outreach services under the general direction of the Counseling Services (CS.) Director at Morehouse School of Medicine ( MSM .) The Counselor position is responsible for, but not limited to, provision of the following: individual and group mental health assessment; counseling, teletherapy; prevention education; classroom, group, organization, and department presentations, and workshops; referrals; individual, organizational, and group consultation; treatment/intervention planning and follow-through; timely documentation of progress notes; referrals to and consulting with other professionals on-and off-campus; participation in other activities of the CS Continuous Quality Improvement program; attending CS and other departmental meetings as assigned; participation at professional trainings, workshops and/or conferences as assigned; participation in other assigned CS and campus committees and activities. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education: + Completed Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field Experience: + Minimum of 2-3 years of counseling experience in clinical or educational settings + Emphasis on clinical counseling + Licensed or licensed eligible in the state of Georgia + Must demonstrate well-developed assessment, evaluation, and organizational skills + Must possess the ability to function independently and know when to escalate issues to achieve and maintain high levels of successful project completion + Must possess skills and abilities in: o training and development o project and event management o data management and program design + Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills + Additionally, this position requires the ability to handle sensitive information with absolute confidentiality.
