Counselor I

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral health/related Field OR Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with pending Master’s Degree in behavioral health Required. Master’s Degree in behavioral health or related field preferred. At least two years clinical experience specifically with chemically dependent / dually diagnosed population preferred. Licensed Professional Counselor preferred.

Job duties/Resonsibilities:

Provides individual and group therapy for patients and documents the process in the patient record. Ensures that all necessary documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents is done in clear, concise, and timely manner. Develops and presents didactic material to patients. Conducts family sessions and documents accordingly in the patient record as needed. Provides crisis intervention to patients as needed. Plans aftercare for assigned patients Evaluates patient’s needs and determines if psychiatric referral is needed. Assists in training of new clinical staff and interns. Completes mandatory Essential Learning courses.
