Counselor Supervisor

Pay: $75,000 + DOE
Job purpose
Under the direction of the Treatment Director, the Counselor Supervisor performs direct supervision of the Counselors and Interns. Ensures that the treatment program provides quality clinical services. Monitor program development at the facility and maintains current level of programming. This position is responsible for individual staff development and training of supervisees. Includes direct care not limited to assessments, groups, education and case management. In some locations, this position may be 50% LADC responsibilities and 50% Supervision.
Duties and responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Provide supervision to clinical staff and assistance with case management of clients admitted to the program Screen and interview clients for appropriateness of admission to program Demonstrate competency in areas specified under alcohol and drug counselor qualifications Provide ongoing education and training to all staff members Review and sign off on all ADC Trainees and interns progress notes, reviews, treatment plans, transfers and service termination documents Lead supervision meetings with ADC-T, CPRS and other clinical staff. Attend weekly manager’s meetings and keep current on all licensure requirements Attend all mandatory staff meetings and daily reportQualifications Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:
Must have current Minnesota State Licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor Must have 2 years (or equivalent) supervision experience or a Minnesota State Supervisor certification or the ability to acquire. Must have three (3) or more years of experience providing individual and group counseling to individuals with substance use disorder. Must document 12 hours of training in co-occurring mental health problems and chemical abuse of dependency that includes competencies related to philosophy, screening, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, documentation, programming, medication, collaboration, mental health consultation, discharge planning. On-going training on of cultural awareness and demonstration of sensitivity to various cultural norms and values. Computer literate.Required Skills, Knowledge and Ability
Strong verbal skills and ability to communicate abstract concepts in a simple format Ability to communicate with a variety of people from diverse of cultures, socioeconomic and educational backgrounds.
