Position Overview:

Stocks cafe areas with adequate supplies to meet daily service requirements. Ensures Cafe opens according to posted times of service. Ensures all food items are available at time of opening 99% of the time.Greets and serves customers in a helpful, pleasant manner. Greets each customer and offers service. Serves customers quickly to prevent back up of lines. Accommodates customer requests promptly and communicates special requests to supervisor/manager.Communicates in a timely manner with production staff to ensure sufficient quantities of food for all customers throughout the meal period. Ensures that proper food serving utensils are available for all items according to steam table diagrams and that utensils are washed, rinsed and sanitized prior to use.Maintains designated food areas in an attractive, fresh presentation. Changes pans frequently, reduces pan size as customer load decreases, maintains garnish, eliminating clutter, and removes spills.Ensures that temperature of all food is taken and recorded prior to the start of each meal and keeps complete and accurate temperature records with deficiencies noted and action plan followed.Washes hands consistently after using the restroom, smoking, coming in contact with any possibly contaminated surface, changing gloves, and after touching any part of the body, sneezing, or coughing. Follows proper hand washing procedure (lathering under hot water for 20 seconds up to the wrists or elbows if possible).Completes all sanitation assignments as outlined in sanitation checklist: daily, weekly, monthly 99% of the time. Ensures that food contact surfaces are washed, rinsed, and sanitized within established guidelines. Ensures that hair restraints are in place 100% of the time. Ensures gloves are used 100% of the time when food is in contact with hands.Uses spill signage immediately and properly. Cleans up spills or requests assistance for cleanup of spills as needed. Keeps aisles clear and floors clean to eliminate tripping hazards.Reports any maintenance issues of equipment to supervisor/manager immediately.Demonstrates proper body mechanics.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: High school diploma or equivalency preferred.Experience: One year of general kitchen knowledge in food production and/or catering.Knowledge and Skills: Excellent customer service skills.
