Counterparty Risk consists of the Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR), Central Counterparty (CCP) and Commodities groups within Wholesale Credit Risk, which cover OTC Derivatives (cleared and non-cleared), Futures and Options, Securities Financing, Securities Prime Services, CCPs and Commodities. Overall group responsibilities include, but are not limited to Counterparty Risk Measurement, Monitoring (and escalating as appropriate) of those risks/exposures, Ad hoc risk investigations and analyses for credit officers, sales and senior management, Assessment of CSA terms adequacy, Determination of initial margin requirements including corresponding eligible collateral and valuations where applicable, Ownership and maintenance of all credit exposure metrics (continuous adequacy assessment), All related exposure calculation/reporting engines and their development agendas and priorities, and Credit Capital & CCAR/ICAAP related exposure & collateral stress testing.
The candidate will be responsible for:
Risk coverage monitoring and managing of client Futures, Options, Rates, Credit, and FX trading and exposuresAnalyzing counterparty and firmwide trading portfolios (with a focus on market and liquidity risk), to ensure the risks are quantified and controlled in accordance with the firm’s risk policiesWorking closely with Front Office/Credit Risk/Operations team to size and evaluate appropriate trading limits for new and existing clients to the clearing platformPerforming Ad-Hoc and periodic risk reviews, including scenario stress testing and sensitivity analysisHelping to produce and maintain client risk reports for consumption by independent risk and senior product stakeholdersFormulating views around product risk appetite and being able to review and challenge business stakeholder requestsContributing to firm-wide projects around key counterparty credit exposure metrics & technical enhancements

Bachelor’s degree Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Sciences, or related areaRelevant market risk or credit risk experience is a plusKnowledge of Exchange Traded Derivatives (ETD), Options, FX products (Spot, Forwards), OTC Derivatives (relating to Rates and Credit)Strong project management, communication, presentation, and negotiation skillsHighly motivated with a natural propensity to learn and ask questionsStrong problem-solving abilities with the capability to challenge status quo, looking for ways to do things more efficiently and effectivelyStrong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well independently and in a team environmentStrong analytical skills with good attention to detail and a demonstrated aptitude for tackling analytical issues through quantitative modelling and data manipulationAbility to perform well under pressure in a demanding environment managing multiple tasks at the same timeExpertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPointModeling skills in Excel (VBA), SQL and Python a plus
