Country Accounting Manager/Lead

What You'll Do

The individual will provide in depth support and leverage to the SEA Accounting and Controlling Senior Manager in managing the financial aspects of office operations relating to accounting, tax, payroll and compliance. The individual will be an integral member of the finance team.


The Country Accounting Manager/Lead is responsible for managing the financial aspects of office operations relating to financial accounting and reporting, tax filing and compliances, company secretarial, payroll and compliance requirements.


Whilst undertaking all regular accounting functions within the local operation, the Country Accounting Manager/Lead is responsible for the execution and/or review of the accuracy and completeness of all accounting processes and balances, whether performed locally or outsourced to the external providers.

 

The Country Accounting Manager/Lead is overall in charge of all the accounting and finance related activities in the local office. The responsibilities of the person includes, but not limited to:

 

Accounting

Manage financial and management accounting functions.Keep full set of books and prepare management reports and financial analysis.Responsible for maintaining timely, accurate and up-to-date accounting and management records.Ensure accounting records and systems are in compliance with SEA/Group policies, approved accounting standards and statutory requirements.Responsible to complete all balance sheet reconciliations on timely basis.Complete reconciliation and process the adjustments for US GAAP reporting.Attend to Statutory audit and compliances and ensure Statutory audit is completed on timely basis.Ensure accurate and timely accounting entries for payables.Ensure all payments to vendors and staff claims are made in compliance with SEA policies and within the stipulated timelines.Coordinate with Accounting/Tax/Law/ firms for Audit, Taxation, Company Secretarial and Payroll matters.

Taxation

Ensure compliance regarding all taxation matters.Ensure the Indirect tax returns are accurate and with timely submission.Complete all indirect tax related documentation to suppliers and clients.Ensure timely submission of Corporate Income Tax (CIT) return.Complete timely reconciliations of Tax Returns to General Ledger records.Proactively participate in tax audit preparation and managing the tax audits.

Treasury/Accounts Payable

Daily cash management.Ensure completion of weekly Bank Reconciliations.Ensure completion of weekly Cash flow update in Oracle/SAP.

Payroll and secondment

Though the payroll function is centralized, there is added responsibility to ensure compliance around secondment of employees, their taxation and other compliances.

Risk Management

Ensure there are adequate systems of internal control.Ensure compliance with local tax, legal, and other regulatory requirements.Review and update procedures annually.

Financial Planning & Analysis

To provide input for Other Costs for annual plan and re-estimate process.To provide input for LE estimates for every budgeting cycle.

Administration

To proactively provide ad-hoc administrative assistance to local operation, including other BST functions as required or as requested.

Business Partnering

Assist the Commercial team and Consulting team with billings, collections and project/case related matters.Be the local Finance contact to support the local operations.Assist the SEA Head of Finance and SEA Finance Senior Manager on the governance of policies and procedures within the local operation, this includes communication and implementation.

What You'll Bring

CPA/ CA/ACCA or Professional Accountant.Minimum of 10 years of experienced as Country level Accountant.Exposure to multi country tax environment is preferred.Experienced to work in ERP systems – Oracle, SAP etc.Proficiency to work with systems and eagerness to learn more (i.e. Excel, Business Objects, Time & Billing, Oracle, Hyperion, SAP).Proficient in English Language.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-driven professional with excellent interpersonal skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups. They are highly organized, adaptable, and capable of delivering accurate results under pressure while demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.



Who You'll Work With

You will be part of the Southeast Asia Finance Team and you will be directly reporting to the SEA Accounting and Controlling Senior Manager.
