Operating across Central Europe, they seek an experienced Country Manager to lead operations in Romania. This critical role requires strong commercial insight, leadership capabilities and expertise in the Romanian agricultural landscape.

Job DescriptionLocal Governance: Cultivate positive relationships with local shareholders, including organizing and facilitating the annual general meetings.Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with Romanian regulations and the client's standards, including adherence to the code of conduct and business ethics.Internal Coordination: Enhance coordination between the Romanian team and the client's global functions for seamless operations.Commercial Strategy: Develop and execute a commercial strategy tailored to Romania, covering go-to-market plans, distribution, product positioning, and promotional activities to achieve revenue and market share goals.Performance Monitoring: Consistently review sales performance, monitor budgets, and implement corrective actions as necessary to stay on track with financial targets.Market Expansion: Lead customer engagement initiatives, loyalty programs, and digital outreach to enhance the client's market presence.Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, sales forecasting, cash collection, and trade receivables, including chairing the local credit committee to ensure robust financial management.Visionary Leadership: Inspire and lead the Romanian team, aligning efforts with the client's overarching strategic goals.Talent Development: Actively recruit, mentor, and develop team members to support their growth within the organization.Diversity and Inclusion: Foster an inclusive workplace that values diverse perspectives and enhances business results.Safety Stewardship: Act as the Safety Policy delegate, setting safety objectives, organizing safety initiatives, and fostering a culture of vigilance and continuous improvement.Market Segmentation: Analyze the Romanian market to identify new business opportunities and define target customer segments.Product Portfolio Management: Strategically position the client's product portfolio to optimize market penetration and profitability in Romania.Achievements in Market Share, Revenue, Gross Margin and Operating Profit.Engagement and development of the team.Safety performance including reductions in accidents.The Successful ApplicantEducation: Master's degree in Science or MBA (preferable in Agronomy)Experience: 5-10 years of professional experience, with 3-5 years in senior sales, business excellence, or country management within the agricultural sector.Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in sales and team leadership.Familiarity with the Romanian agricultural market and sector contacts.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.Results-oriented with a firm understanding of financial management principles.Fluency in Romanian and English is a must.
