Position Profile
Objective: Ensure customer satisfaction by performing pick-ups and deliveries proficiently and timely.
Reports To: Site Manager, Site Supervisor, or Assistant Site Manager, depending on site personnel configuration.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Deliver messages, telegrams, documents, packages, and other items to business establishments. Travel to delivery sites on foot, by bicycle, automobile, public conveyance, or customer vehicles. Keep a log of items received and delivered. Obtain receipts for delivered articles. Follow appropriate chain of custody protocols (e.g., TRAC). Service the vehicle, such as checking fluid levels and replenishing fuel. Perform pick-up and delivery jobs by accurately following maps or written instructions. Follow RICOH Service Excellence performance requirements. Maintain compliance with state and company standards by operating the vehicle safely and lawfully, and follow company guidelines in the event of an accident or injury. Respond to client requests, ensuring accurate order taking and timely delivery of completed orders. Complete paperwork in a timely, accurate, and legible manner. Present a professional appearance by dressing in accordance with company standards. Maintain routine maintenance on delivery vehicles (e.g., oil change, tire rotation) as per company specifications. Meet company attendance standards by reporting to work punctually, working all scheduled hours, and any required overtime. Perform other duties as assigned. Work independently, making sound decisions with the needs of the customer and the business in mind. Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Certifications) High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid state driver's license and a driving record that meets company standards. Experience with electronic communication devices and in a team environment. Technical ability: basic knowledge of computers, email, TRAC. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Good customer service and communication skills. Ability to read maps, follow written instructions, and complete paperwork accurately. Good reading comprehension. Professional appearance and demeanor. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively individually or in a team environment. Competency in performing multiple functional tasks. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Critical thinking and decision-making skills. Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands Couriers spend most of their time alone, making deliveries, and are usually not closely supervised. Those who deliver by bicycle are exposed to all weather conditions and hazards associated with heavy traffic. Car, van, and truck couriers must sometimes carry heavy loads, either manually or with the aid of a hand truck. They also deal with difficult parking situations, traffic jams, and road construction. In the office: typically an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise levels based on the geographic location of the site. Work assignments are diversified. Must interpret, comprehend, and apply complex material, data, and instructions. Prepare, provide, and convey diversified information. Work requires walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting or carrying objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files, small parts).
