The Department of Sociology is inviting applications to teach a course in Winter 2025. Please complete the online application form and upload a CV and cover letter. The cover letter should contain the following information:
-Area examinations completed along with date of completion
-Previous TA or course lecturer experience for the course(s) for which you are applying

SOCI 230 – Sociology of Ethnic Relations
An introduction to the sociological study of minority groups in Canada. The course will explore the themes of racism, prejudice, and discrimination, ethnic and racial inequalities, cultural identities, multiculturalism, immigration. Theoretical, empirical, and policy issues will be discussed. While the focus will be primarily on Canada, comparisons will be made with the United States.
Course dates:
February 19 – April 11, 2025: Wednesday & Friday (13:05– 14:25) Burnside Hall room 1B45
Full contract dates: February 19 – May 10, 2025
Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Education: Priority will be given to Ph.D. students near the completion of their degree.
Experience: Successful completion of area exam in Nationalism, Race/Ethnicity and International Migration within the last five years and/or prior experience as a teaching assistant for SOCI 230.
