Purpose of Position We’re looking for a creative and adaptable (Agile) Product Owner with a strong UX/UI design focus. As a Courseware Learning Designer, Senior, you’ll be responsible for designing the next generation of training solutions for aviation, including proprietary EdTech and other interactive, engaging training tools and templates. This unique role sits at the intersection of product ownership, user experience, and visual design. You’ll be responsible for understanding user needs, driving the product vision, and creating engaging and transformational digital training experiences. You’ll play a vital role in shaping how flight crews learn—developing innovative, user-centric products that make training more effective, intuitive, and impactful. By working closely with stakeholders, subject matter experts, software engineers, and courseware developers, you’ll ensure that every training solution we build is user-friendly, cutting-edge, and backed by learning science.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Agile Product Ownership: You’re experienced in owning a digital product (i.e., software, apps) from ideation to implementation, always keeping the user and business goals in mind. You understand prioritization, balancing competing needs, and delivering incremental value. UX/UI Design Expertise: You think like a designer—focused on delivering intuitive, user-friendly interfaces. You’re always considering user feedback, applying empathy, and designing solutions that put the user first. You’ll primarily work with Figma and the Adobe Suite, in addition to other office applications. User Research: You have experience conducting user research to validate design decisions, run usability testing, and gather insights to make informed product decisions. Technical Writing: You excel at clearly documenting your product requirements, designs, and user flows so others can easily follow and execute your vision. Team Collaboration: You enjoy collaborating closely with software engineers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders, always working towards a shared vision. Creative Problem Solving: You’re a highly creative person who can conceptualize and iterate on innovative solutions while keeping business problems and user pain points at the forefront.

What You’ll Do

You’ll collaborate with various inter-divisional teams on the design, development, and deployment of training solutions. This will include: Product Planning & Analysis: Identifying / exploring problems, defining user needs, and planning solutions that align with strategic business objectives. UI/UX Design & Prototyping: Creating wireframes, prototypes, and polished visual designs. You love working with a design system and ensuring it evolves to meet user needs. User Research & Testing: Conducting research and usability testing to validate designs and refine features. You believe in data-driven design decisions. Technical Writing & Requirements: Defining clear product requirements, documenting user flows, and communicating the “why” behind product features. Stakeholder Management: Managing relationships with key stakeholders, guiding them through the design and development process, and ensuring alignment at every stage. Deployment & Evaluation: Working alongside the various teams during the deployment phase and evaluating product success post-launch, refining where necessary. Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field. Minimum Experience Minimum 5 years of related experience.  Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Team Player: You know how to build strong partnerships and work well with others to get things done. Microsoft: You are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.  Learning & Development: Experience creating learning solutions or educational products is a big plus. Project Management: Agile & Scrum Methods and Project Management, especially using Azure DevOps. Design: Experience with website design, game design, 3D modeling, or AR/VR development. Aviation: Experience or a deep passion for in the aviation industry, especially as a flight crew member or maintenance technician.   Physical Demands and Work Environment
