Draft and submit petitions, notices, affidavits/certificates of service and denial rights motions with the court on behalf of the patient and the facility.· Provide all relevant information from the court hearing to the appropriate department at the facility.
· Compile, maintain and track the mental health court appearances and evaluation appointments for all patients admitted to the facility on an involuntary basis.
· Communicate effectively with court clerks, court-appointed doctors, public defenders and various court personnel in order to coordinate and deliver correct patient information for hearings and evaluations.
· Assemble chart materials for mental health court evaluations and hearings to provide evidence for each patient’s hold.
· Communicate patient court progression with appropriate departments at the facility.
· Ensure accurate and timely documentation of relevant activities.
Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:
· High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in social work or health field preferred.
· Two or more years’ of related experience required.
· Understanding of court/criminal justice system and structure preferred.
