Job Duties :      This is court services work supervising other court service officers and assisting clients who are persons under the jurisdiction of the District Court or being furnished auxiliary services by the District Court.  This is the first level of supervision; an incumbent in this class will be responsible for assigning and supervising the work of one or more staff members.  District wide record keeping, training, and administrative responsibility may be at this level.  Work may be performed as part of a team and is under the direction of a senior court services officer or administrative Judge.  Work is reviewed through conferences, reports, and evaluation reports.  Must be available during the courts operating hours to ensure appropriate supervisory and/or staff coverage. Required Education and Experience : Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in corrections, counseling, criminology, psychology, social work, sociology or a closely related field and two years’ experience in court services. Additional Desired Qualifications : Knowledge of staff supervisory skills, caseload management, and proficient in EPICS and risk/needs tools to include LS/CMI and WRNA.  Knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures to facilitate an acceptable reintegration and/or continued adjustment of criminal offenders within their environment.  Knowledge of human behavior and interpersonal relationships.  Knowledge of basic terminology and concepts of probation and other court services.  Knowledge of English usage and written communication format.  Ability to interact with clients and others in order to establish and maintain professional working relationships with them.  Ability to communicate information concisely and accurately so that others can comprehend the ideas being conveyed.
