GENERAL SUMMARY: -Hybrid position 

The system-wide Coverage Analyst-Research Administration will provide a review for any clinical research study requiring Henry Ford Health resources as required by the National Coverage Decision (NCD310.1) and the Federal Clinical Trials Policy (CTP). A coverage analysis is required for all clinical trials in which tests, procedures and interventions associated with a clinical trial are invoiced to third party payers. Responsible for the review of the trial protocol, patient informed consent, and budget, ensuring alignment with the clinical trial agreement or notice of grant award to determine the final billing designation for all procedures identified in the protocol. This process will ensure compliant clinical research billing. This position ensures harmonization amongst the clinical trial documents. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with four (4) years of experience in clinical trials research, billing compliance or medical coding. Masters degree can be utilized in this position. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent analytical, budgeting, and computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, Medicare rules, and drug/device development. Requires the ability to work independently and to accept responsibility for complex and sensitive decision-making as it relates to the position. Outstanding organizational skills are necessary to manage many competing timetables and responsibilities.  Ability to multi-task. Preferred skill- Clinical trials experience.
