Purpose of the Role
The Child Protection Case Worker will oversee all aspects of the case management process for vulnerable children, including those at risk of or experiencing abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence (such as unaccompanied or separated children) and their families. The key objectives for this role include:
Ensuring children at risk or harm are identified and referred from the wider community, and receive comprehensive case management support. This includes conducting documentation, assessments, action plans, direct service provision, referrals, and follow-ups for an assigned caseload of children.Providing support to families during the case management process, including facilitating foster care or alternative care arrangements, and delivering targeted psychosocial support and skills-building sessions for caregivers.Collaborating closely with other case workers and service providers to manage caseloads and ensure effective and timely referrals.Conducting regular home visits with children and their families to: Monitor recovery progress and provide follow-up support, facilitate access to necessary services through referrals, assess and address child protection risks/issues within the home environment, including potential risks to other children.
