Purpose of the RoleThe position will establish and enhance the "Strengthening Child Rights Monitoring Mechanism (CRMM)" project across 15 camps in Ukhiya and Teknaf upazilas of Cox’s Bazar district. The Child Protection Manager will strengthen the case identification process, ensuring cases are properly verified, documented, and reported in alignment with project requirements. Additionally, the manager will ensure the seamless implementation of Child Rights Monitoring Mechanism interventions across project locations.
2. Monitoring, Evaluation, and ReportingEstablish and maintain ethical and robust data collection systems in collaboration with the MIS manager, ensuring accurate data collection methods are in place. Analyze trends and patterns in child rights violations, producing actionable insights to inform program strategies while maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity.Prepare and submit high-quality, child-centered reports on project progress, impact, and challenges, ensuring that partners and donors are informed of achievements and lessons learned.Alignment with the ethical management of child rights violation data, adhering to global standards and child protection principles to ensure the dignity and safety of all involved.3. Coordination and PartnershipBuild and maintain productive relationships with donors, government agencies, UN organizations, and NGOs to strengthen child rights monitoring systems. Actively participate in inter-agency coordination platforms to align efforts and avoid duplication.Serve as the focal point for child rights monitoring, representing the project at meetings, workshops, and coordination forums, and advocating for the inclusion of child protection priorities in broader humanitarian discussions.Engage with community leaders and local networks to strengthen community-based mechanisms for monitoring and reporting child rights violations while fostering trust and participation.4. Capacity BuildingStrengthen the capacity of field staff to ensure accurate and ethical data collection for evidence-based child protection programming. Provide ongoing mentoring and technical guidance.Develop context-sensitive training materials and collaborate with the supervisor to arrange and facilitate capacity-building activities for staff, partners, and stakeholders.Consistently plan and implement capacity-building initiatives based on the needs of the project and in alignment with established training plans.Conduct sensitization and capacity-building workshops for partners and stakeholders to enhance their ability to monitor, report, and respond to child rights violations ethically and effectively.5. Team Management and LeadershipProvide compassionate supervision and mentorship to project staff, fostering a safe and supportive work environment that prioritizes team well-being.Ensure that all team members adhere to organizational policies, including safeguarding, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), and ethical conduct standards.Conduct regular performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback to enhance staff competency and professional growth.Proactively monitor the safety and security of field teams, addressing risks and concerns while liaising with community leaders and relevant stakeholders to maintain a secure working environment.6. Other DutiesPerform additional tasks assigned by the supervisor to support and enhance IRC’s child protection programs and address emerging needs, always ensuring the best interests of children are prioritized.
