We are seeking a dynamic CPI Engineer Intern to lead company efforts in continuous process improvement (CPI) for various manufacturing and/or construction processes. As a CPI Engineer Intern, you will work closely with our CPI Manager and utilize problem-solving methodologies to implement process improvements, enhancing performance and building capability.
Our dynamic internship program, spanning from June to August, offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the success of our projects within Barrett Paving Material’s New York Central region.
Compensation$20/Hour
Main Responsibilities Collaborate with operations and safety personnel to develop practical solutions to operational efficiency issues. Propose improvement ideas to the management team, ensuring buy-in from stakeholders. Support the implementation of process improvement projects with operations teams. Serve as a resource to our plants and administrative departments, helping to identify, plan, and implement continuous process improvements. Assist in internal training and project implementation. Provide timely project updates, feedback, and reporting, and maintain project logs. Share continuous improvement knowledge and best practices with others. Skills Prior experience in manufacturing settings or process improvement is a plus. Results-oriented with strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and maintain credibility across all levels of the business. Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Mechanical aptitude is desirable. EducationCurrent Mechanical or Industrial Engineering students are preferred, although other engineering or business degree students will also be considered.
