Craft-Worker Intern - Power Generation Laboratory

Overview This is an intern level position. Intern will gain practical, hands-on experience in the utility industry under close supervision. This position will provide challenging assignments, networking opportunities, and a chance to learn from experienced energy industry professionals. Responsibilities Assists in obtaining, analyzing and reporting analytical results from grab samples acquired from multiple company systems including, but not limited to, boiler water systems, cooling water systems, demineralized makeup and scrubber systems; fuel and fuel byproduct samples. Maintain documentation/computer entry of daily data. Prepare laboratory reagents necessary for lab procedures. Responsible for gaining understanding of compliance with various state and EPA water quality and discharge limitations. Develop understanding of compliance with safety procedures regarding laboratory chemicals including hazardous chemicals. Performs other duties as directed by management. Qualifications Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in a technical field. Applicable degree fields include Applied Process Technology, Associate of Science or a related field. Must complete a chemistry course with a lab. Minimum 2.50 GPA.
