The Crane and Rigging Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and reviewing operations within the rigging discipline. They will supervise subcontract supervisors, and others, as assigned. They will ensure that all assigned construction performance are following specifications and within schedules and budgets.
Responsibilities\:
Provide ES&H leadership to personnel assigned to the project. This includes preparation and implementation of safety procedures Ensure that all crane and rigging operations comply with applicable procedures, OSHA standards, and federal, state, county, and local regulations, customer and project-specific requirements Ensure all site cranes per processes and procedure requirements in regards to safe usage, site relocation, assembly/disassembly of telescopic RT-AT and lattice boom crawler cranes, safe rig up and safe raising-lowering of long boom cranes, proper setup, proper usage and site ground bearing conditions regarding build out of earth and timber crane pads Manage site crane operator qualification program including crane operator certifications, state licenses, and medical certificates verification Ensures that assigned personnel are properly qualified for their task (e.g. signaling cranes); that they are trained, competent, and aware of their responsibilities, and are complying with all applicable standards, requirements, and safe practices Inspect site for unsafe conditions and practices and take appropriate corrective action to correct breaches Coordinate safety training and enforce safe work practices at all times in conjunction with the Environmental Safety and Health supervisor Review and approve subcontractor equipment/personnel mobilization and demobilization Monitor the activities of craft to ensure compliance with specification Responsible for implementing corporate project policies, procedures, and instructions within their assigned area(s) of operation Coordinate and implement established area of operational plans Assist in performing construction testing as required Perform other duties as required by management *Our Nuclear Projects group is a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy, we deliver safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. NCCO, NCCER, or equivalent Must be a certified crane operator, NCCO, NCCER, or equivalent Must be an OSHA crane inspector University/B.S. degree in Engineering or Construction Management plus 5 years of experience or 8 years of equivalent industry experience in-lieu of a degree Experience on nuclear construction sites Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken Experience in nuclear construction or power generating station construction preferred Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards Excellent communication and problem solving abilities Certified Crane Operator, experience as an A/D Director for all types of mobile cranes Ability to read and interpret crane manufactures operator manual and load charts Experience in safe use and inspection of rigging hardware Monitor and track utilization of all site cranes Experience in crating and reviewing lifting plans including critical lift plans Essential Functions\:Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
