Two positions for an hourly Crane Operator are now open at the Natchitoches EWP Mill. One position is open in Press B, and one position is open in Press D. The role will be responsible for operating an overhead crane to unload billets from the Press out feed, and load billets onto the Products infeed. The wage for this role is $25.00/hour. *KEY FUNCTIONS:* * Use a suspended, hand-held pendant to move carriage (with shoes) beneath billets, raise, and move to the Crane bay and stack according to length. * Move billets from Crane bay to the Product line. * Remove stickers from billets, place into a metal rack, lift billets, and place into the Product line. * Refer to the run sheets to determine what type and how many billets will be needed. * Complete a Crane inspection at the start of each shift, checking the carriage structure, inspecting for frayed cables, and other possible malfunctions. * Complete the Billet Barn Crane Pre-Operation checklist and submit it to Leadership. * Complete the TJI Billet Warehouse Check Sheet each shift. * Ensure Billet Tender has recorded the correct information on stacks (length, product code, date, Crew, initials, etc.), and have the Billet Tender correct any mistakes. * Keep warehouse area swept and free of debris. * Be available to break out Billet Tenders. * Communicate with other Billet Tenders, Crane Operators, and Press Operators. * Other duties as assigned. * Must have 2 years of experience as a certified crane operator * /*A current resume detailing education and work history is required for consideration.*/ * Ability to meet objectives while working un-supervised. * Must exhibit the ability to lead and promote a pro-active safety culture. * Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, which may include weekends and holidays as operating conditions require. * Ability to read and follow detailed instructions. ** *About Wood Products* We've been delivering quality building products and solutions to our customers for more than 100 years.
