About this position: 
As a condition of employment, all applicants are required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Job Type: Full Time, Onsite
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30AM - 4:00PM (Day Shift), with limited after hours and weekends as required
Starting Wage: $19.00 - $27.55, depending on experience

Farwest Steel’s Operations Department, seeks a knowledgeable and dependable individual to join their team as Crane Operator – Bay I. In this role, you will operate the crane to support the metal processing equipment, move, unload, load, and store materials in warehouse while following all safety policies and procedures. This position is very important in making sure that the work flows through the shop at a steady and timely pace.

Key Responsibilities for this role include:

Operate overhead crane to load or unload railcars, trailers, customer’s vehicles, etc.Assisting machine operators, preparing parts for packaging and delivery per customer requirements transport Pull and fill orders using crane, or by hand for smaller products.Efficiently move material from trucks and railcars, restocking racks utilizing Farwest procedures and equipment to protect personal and material quality.Tracking material and numbers for certification. Material will be rotated and kept accessible.Keep bay organized and ensure that all aisles are debris free and clear of obstructions. Required maintenance and safety duties that include attending safety and production meetings and constant monitoring of tools and equipment that insure safe operation and minimal down time.Assisting will call customers by filling and loading their material in a professional manner. will operate forklift occasionally and move trailers around the yard.Assisting sales staff with warehouse and inventory questions and issues.  Minimal Qualifications one (1) year warehouse experience, including forklift and/or overhead crane operation.Basic understanding of warehouse functions and equipment operation.Ability to communicate effectively, orally and writing in English. Ability to work in a team environment with others in our company and treat our employees and customers with respect, courtesy and tactAbility to work in a team environment with others in our company and treat our employees and customers with respect, courtesy and tact
