The Crane Technician (Crane/Hoist) is a multi-discipline mechanic and electrician that provides inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair services for all the Charleston site's cranes and hoists. Responsibilities include providing services in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner in compliance with all the site's safety procedures; performing inspections within the required timeframes to keep the site in regulatory compliance; coordinating with operations personnel to schedule work within the site's departments; and troubleshooting and repairing cranes/hoists when notified of breakdowns.
Job Responsibilities:
Inspect and document crane and hoist inspections within the required time intervals to maintain the site in regulatory compliance. Provide preventative maintenance (mechanically and electrically) measures to the site’s cranes and hoists. Troubleshoot and repair cranes (mechanically and electrically) and hoists when notified of breakdowns.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required. Preferred Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Technology or related field or equivalent vocational/technical training. 5+ years of related work experience Experience with reading, understanding, and applying the contents of all applicable OSHA, ASME, ANSI, NFPA, NEC, EPA and other codes or regulations pertaining to manufacturing industry, in particular related to cranes/hoists. Experience with reading and comprehending mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics. Experience with fabrication shop equipment. Repair experience with gear drives, rigging, bearings, motors, instrumentation, electrical components. What do we offer?
