You'll have...
A bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, structural engineering, electronics engineering or a related field and 10 years of experience in the position offered or 10 years of experience designing vehicles for structural crashworthiness. Also requires 10 years of experience: performing FEA and numerical analysis to evaluate full vehicle crashworthiness performance for high-speed frontal, side and rear impacts using LS-Dyna software; and using Hypermesh or Primer for pre- and post-processing of CAE models. Employee reports to office in Dearborn, MI. Position may work from home, but must live within commuting distance of stated office. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
We are offering a salary range of $117,853 - $158,100 per year.

What you’ll be able to do:
Openings available for Crash Safety Engineer – Structural Crashworthiness at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI. Responsible for the developing and analyzing the full vehicle structure to meet global regulatory requirements and public domain targets. Utilize FEA tools to guide the vehicle system and component design process, including design optimization. Need a detailed understanding of crash physics and structural components and the effects on full vehicle crash requirements. Support and coordinate physical testing, analysis of component and full vehicle test results, and root-cause analysis. Responsible to own issue tracking and closure through all engineering gateways from initial program through final engineering signoff.
