A Crating Team Lead is available in Tacoma, WA at Milgard Windows and Doors. You will be responsible for overseeing the crating and packaging of finished windows and doors, ensuring they are properly protected for shipment and delivered to customers in perfect condition. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.

Monday through Friday starting at 5:00 a.m. The hourly compensation range is between $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.

The Crating Lead Job Responsibilities Include:

Lead and supervise a team of crating and packaging personnel. Plan and prioritize daily crating activities to meet production schedules. Ensure all crating and packaging procedures are followed according to company standards and customer specifications. Inspect finished products for quality and identify any defects before packaging. Select appropriate crating materials and construct crates and packaging to protect products during transit. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Monitor inventory of crating materials and notify management when supplies need to be replenished. Train new employees on crating and packaging procedures. Implement safety regulations and promote a safe working environment. Troubleshoot and resolve any crating or packaging issues that may arise. Collaborate with other departments, such as production and shipping, to ensure smooth workflow. Accurately complete all necessary paperwork and documentation.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of three years of experience in crating, packaging, or a related field. Proven leadership and supervisory skills. Strong knowledge of crating and packaging techniques. Ability to read and interpret work orders and specifications. Proficiency in using various hand and power tools. Ability to operate a forklift (preferred). Excellent attention to detail and quality control. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.   Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
