The Creative Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the production of Sur La Table’s packaging, signage display, and print media processes ensuring that assets are produced efficiently, on time, and within budget. You will collaborate with leaders across Creative, Brand, Merchandising, Store Operations, and outside vendors. This is a hybrid role based in Seattle, WA. This position will report into the Senior Creative Operations ManagerWhat you get to do every day: MANAGE & MONITOR PRODUCTION SCHEDULES Utilize Wrike software to manage projects based on print production timelines and vendor production capacity. Partner with the Traffic Coordinator and Project Management team as needed to balance resourcing allocation to meet timelines. In collaboration with the Packaging Art Director, oversee packaging production and photography timelines ensuring execution is staying on time, true to brief, and within vendor specs. Monitor project progress; establish reporting cadence to deliver updates; troubleshoot issues and escalations that arise; document and follow up on critical actions, decisions, issues, risks; and send out meeting recaps promptly.
END TO END PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT Manage relationship with print vendors, including regular business reviews to drive process improvements. Schedule pre-production meetings with local vendors as needed. Oversee monthly retail signage production process including ordering, file handoff to printer, and digital proofing ensuring production stays on time and within budget. Manage the creative production support and marketing efforts for store openings and closures in partnership with Brand, visual merchandise, and store operations. Create workback schedules and key milestones for production and delivery dates to open stores on time. Manage the timeline, quotes, and ordering for all print related requests connected to Brand Media.
PACKAGING & PRINT QUALITY OVERSIGHT Ensure Packaging projects are setup accurately with dielines and appropriate finishing information. Make minor adjustments to design files when needed, such as updating text, fixing bleeds ensuring files meet production requirements. Execute Mechanical checks on outgoing packaging projects.
BUDGET MANAGEMENT & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT Analyze data to proactively address strategic business opportunities to drive process improvements, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs. Track, manage, and report all production costs including labor, materials, shipping, photography, and inventory storage maintenance. Responsible for managing monthly burn reports for Creative department.
What you bring to the role: Certification, or 5+ years of on-the-job experience equivalence. Production design experience preferred. Degree in relevant field is preferred but not required. Strong business acumen with exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, project management skills, including a bias for action Organized, self-starter who excels at prioritizing and planning multi-stakeholder initiatives and competing priorities. Comfort working in an environment that is experiencing transformation and growth. Proven ability to manage multiple competing projects in a fast-paced environment Ability to create effective relationships, influence, and collaborate at all organizational levels. Comprehensive understanding of the print production process. Proven track record partnering with designers, agencies, and vendors. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Examples of proactive problem-solving, both technically and creatively. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and various project management tools; Experience in Wrike, a plus. Basic proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator or InDesign) for minor file adjustments.
