Meta is looking for a Creative Director, Cross Meta Visual Systems to join the Cross Meta Design Systems team driving expression and coherence of the Meta brand in product. Visual systems is a pillar focused on crafting design language, foundations, shared product primitives, libraries, and strategies that scale Meta brand expression across our Family of Apps (Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp) and to Meta-led products and services. This person will collaborate with product designers, visual designers, art directors, and brand driving visual design standards and quality. This role will propose concepts and strategies, guiding development and shipping designs, that resonate with our global audience. They will work at both the guidance and feature level to enhance product UX by crafting design foundations and styles that support comprehension, connection, and delight with a focus on the mediums of design language, iconography, illustration, and animation..
**Required Skills:**
Creative Director, Cross Meta Visual Systems Responsibilities:
1. Drive development of visual elements and systems in collaboration with various design groups from product designers, art directors, communication designers, illustrators, and external partners.
2. Collaborate cross-functionally. Balance the needs of stakeholders, and break down complex requirements into simple, compelling solutions.
3. Synthesize feedback quickly incorporating it into the work strengthening outcomes.
4. Create compelling design proposals that demonstrate the impact of visual systems and solutions applied in product.
5. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify opportunities for product enhancements that would bring greater brand expression and elevate the quality of our work.
6. Create and uphold craft and quality standards for the work influencing the team and partners.
7. Lead the development of relevant solutions for multiple global markets, ensuring that it feels relevant and useful.
8. Alongside the Design Operations, align on key priorities with cross-functional teams to build shared goals, milestones, and objectives.

9. Experience leading design direction across various multidisciplinary teams and identifying opportunities to elevate the overall product experience.
10. Experience building and shipping applications or software across a variety of platforms.
11. Knowledge of design principles related to design systems and brand and how they can inform UX, UI, communication hierarchy, and user flows.
12. Experience working across various styles and mediums including illustration, iconography and animation weaving them together into holistic solutions.
13. Track record of being self-directed, demonstrating leadership, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner.
14. Experience in deadline driven environments that requires managing many dependencies including self directed time management, task prioritization, and flexibility.
15. Experience bringing clarity to complex, sometimes ambiguous projects and processes, proactively working towards solutions.
16. Effective presentation, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the experience communicating complex, sometimes abstract, concepts clearly and persuasively — Can explain the “whys” behind decisions and direction, is open to being wrong, and has a point of view and can represent it with conviction.
17. Experience coordinating, directing, providing direction to contractors, agencies, and in-house designers.
18. Experience clearly conveying concepts/vision with cross-functional teams and vendors driving shared milestones.
19. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, with 8+ years of experience encompassing interaction design, UX, and visual design with proficiency designing across platforms

**Public Compensation:**
$174,000/year to $246,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
