Job Description/Summary:
The Creative Services Director directs comprehensive marketing strategies for KMOV, Matrix Midwest, and affiliated network channels and platforms. Oversees all aspects of brand development, promotion, and creative campaigns. Leads and mentors the creative teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment to ensure the successful execution of marketing and promotional projects.
Directs comprehensive marketing strategies for KMOV, Matrix Midwest, and affiliated network channels and platforms, overseeing all aspects of brand development, promotion, and creative campaigns, including B2B and B2C client relationships and partnerships. Leads and mentors creative team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment to ensure the successful execution of marketing and promotional projects. Manages cross-departmental relationships and initiatives to seamlessly execute station and company priorities. Develops and executes effective media campaigns that align with the station's brand, resulting in increased viewer engagement and market share. Leverages creative and strategic thinking to identify growth opportunities, stay ahead of industry trends, and maintain a competitive edge in the dynamic broadcasting and digital landscape.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Manage brand, and station promotional efforts and messaging across all platforms
- Manage creative and commercial production team
- Manage cross-departmental initiatives
- Maintain positive and collaborative relationships between departments and with external partners
- Oversee department budget as a responsible steward
- Manage all outside advertising from budget to creative execution
- Collaborate with external organizations and sports franchises on promotional efforts and station initiatives
- Handle contract negotiation and management with vendors for everything from voiceovers, music contracts, event promotion, etc.
- Maintain station apparel and swag inventory and handle sourcing and ordering new items as needed
- Write and execute press releases and external station communications
- Collaborate with station leadership on research project development, execution, and interpretation into actionable brand priorities
- Manage community marketing efforts at events and activations
- Work closely with the CBS affiliate marketing team for network activations
- Ability to pivot quickly, developing marketing strategies for breaking news, events, and other opportunities on the fly
- Lead design of station graphics, branding, set design, outside advertising, etc.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- BS or BA in Advertising, Marketing or Broadcasting
- Six years experience in advertising, marketing, or promotion with progressive managerial responsibilities-- including a minimum of four years in the TV industry.
- Excellent leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead and manage major projects - from concept to completion.
- Strong knowledge of broadcast, digital, and social media marketing.
- Creative skills including writing, graphic design, editing, shooting, etc. are required.
