**About the Role:**
This position reports to the Sr. Credit Officer and is responsible for reviewing approving, declining, or recommending commercial credit applications within assigned approval limits while maintaining risk exposure consistent with bank loan quality guidelines.
Monitors quality and performance of portfolio(s) and advises line partners on strategies to protect bank capital, Develops partnerships with other business line leaders for mutual goal attainment and collaboration on shared priorities.
+ Collaborate with bankers to develop high quality loan portfolios and service client relationships. Review, approve, decline or recommend credit facilities. Administer and review loans and loan commitments within assigned authorities. May contribute to the development of credit policies, processes, and methodologies.
+ The position includes individual secured credit authority of up to $15,000,000 in Total Credit Exposure (TCE). Any relationship that exceeds assigned authority or is otherwise outside of an individual’s established credit authority as defined by Credit Policy or Guidelines, will require recommendation to Associate(s) with higher authority.
+ Oversee the management of delinquent loans, ensuring that bankers are making appropriate contact with past due accounts. Oversee completion and accuracy of monthly past due-loan reports and problem loan reports by bankers and ensures timely submission to Credit Quality Administration.
+ Monitor and verify risk rating accuracy on delinquent loans and those submitted for approval. Advises bankers on the risk rating process and ensures timely documentation of migrations.
+ Review credit recommendations for accuracy and coach the banking staff in the development of complete, accurate and well-structured credit recommendations.
+ Provide guidance and advice to the banking staff on financial analyses, loan structuring and other credit considerations. Ensure lending staff is aware of all relevant changes in credit requirements.
+ Engage with external clients, prospects, and banking staff providing experienced perspective regarding risk identification, mitigation, and loan structuring. Provide strong and consistent credit leadership.
+ Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities –knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
+ Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
+ Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
+ May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

**About You:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ 10 -15 years of experience in Commercial, Business or Consumer Lending with experience within Private Banking, Mortgage Lending or SBA Lending.
+ 3-5 years in an Underwriter, Portfolio Manager and/or Client Solutions (or equivalent) position.
+ 2 years of experience with credit approval authority.
+ Comprehensive banking/lending background in management and extensive experience in commercial, real estate, commercial and residential construction, and consumer lending, including mortgage lending, business lending, SBA and loan portfolio management, including the use of models.
+ Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; comfortable dealing with a large span of people across all levels of the organization.
+ Strong communication skills – verbal, listening, written, and presentation.
+ Solid financial business acumen and ability to interpret and understand financial reports and presentations regrading credit portfolio performance.
+ Strong computer skills including use of the Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn new business software as needed.
+ Strong understanding of market orientation - uses knowledge effectively with internal and external customers.
+ Ability to train and present to small and large audiences or has interest and ability to learn to train and present.
+ Ability to stay current on legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the bank’s portfolio.
