Credit Balance Analyst | Refunds Department | Day
Overview JOB DUTIES Review and audit patient accounts for accurate resolution of a credit balance or Refund request according to Department Policies. Essential Functions • Research Epic Credit Balances to accurately resolve, which could include but not limited to adjustment, distribution, transfer, request review by Business Department • Process refunds to Insurance Carriers, including State and Federal Payors according to Policy guidelines, which can include calling Insurance Carriers for verification of requests. • Process Self-pay Hospital or Physician Refunds, which could include calling Insurance Carriers and/or Guarantors according to Policy Guidelines • Respond to incoming Correspondence which includes faxes, email, phone inquiries and the Epic Correspondence Report • Maintain assigned production standards for resolution of Credit Balances • Special projects as assigned. Qualifications SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Skills, Knowledge, Abilities • Ability to work in a team environment. • Ability to interact effectively with staff and outside contacts on a variety of levels. • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
