Credit Officer

To strengthen our Finance team based in Venlo, we are looking for a Credit Officer who is able to operate between Credit Management, Treasury and Accounts Receivable. This position concerns activities aimed at limiting financial risks, collecting receivables, assessing customers and commercial contract conditions, so that the company is correctly, timely and fully informed about the creditworthiness of customers and responsible financial risks are taken on. You will be providing advice on when milestones should be billed, manage (local) banking relationships, providing dispute management, requesting bank guarantees, hedging and forecasting about the cashflow.

Responsibilities

Amongst others but not limited to:

Initiates the credit management policy and takes care of its management after adoption.Prepares work in the field of credit management by organizing commercial kick-offs, organizing efficient and effective debtor handling and by collecting relevant data.Facilitates process of customer billing between project management, sales and external accounting.Assesses new letters of credit, obtains LOC advise from the bank, and advises the Forwarding department in this regard.Looks for solutions with customers and company to be able to conclude an order in the event of reduced creditworthiness.Checks compliance with the general terms and conditions of delivery and maintains contact with customers to guarantee timely payment of the outstanding claim.Facilitates AR-related escalations from external accounting incl. unapplied cash.Facilitates receivables ageing review meeting with project management team.Forecasts cash collections and cash flow.Manages banking relationships with local banks, controls access rights.

Education & qualifications

Completed education on Bachelor or Master degree level, preferably in Finance or Business Administration;At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a multinational company or comparable;Experience in working with SAP;Fluency in the English language, verbally as well as in writing. Do you also speak Dutch? That’s a bonus!
