Job Description:

At Regions, the Credit Products Specialized Industries Associate supports Credit Products Specialized Industries Managers in assessing the potential risks of existing and proposed transactions. As a member of the first Line of Defense, the individual will analyze new commercial credit opportunities, underwrite new or renewed credit exposure and manage a portfolio of loans and other credit relationships typically in partnership with a Credit Products Specialized Industries Manager.  Based on a risk adjusted return perspective and the Bank’s stated risk appetite, this individual will strive to balance credit asset quality goals as well as revenue goals by serving as an independent credit risk expert providing effective challenge to both the Line of Business and Credit Risk.

Primary Responsibilities

Prepare credit approval packages on new and renewed credit products including determination of the appropriate risk rating as well as risk factors that could change the risk rating, analysis of financial performance, performance vs. projections, covenant compliance, relationship profitability (RAROC), and any other significant risk driversAnalysis of guarantors as needed to support credit underwritingAssists Credit Products Specialized Industries Managers with the review of pre-closing loan documents and closing due diligence, or independently, if neededActively manages financial reporting requirements, covenant requirements, past dues and documentation exceptionsEnsures credit files are complete with all up to date informationProvide tickler implementation and maintenanceOngoing portfolio monitoring and servicing activities in conjunction with Credit Products supportValidates the appropriate risk rating for a company and proactively identifies risk rating changesIdentifies opportunities for exposure reduction or new opportunities within assigned portfolioMaintains up to date understanding of primary loan market pricing and structuring trendsParticipates in research, preparation and execution of customer and prospect callsParticipates in identifying  financial solutions that meet the client’s needs and the Bank’s risk acceptance criteriaEnsures compliance with internal bank commercial loan policy, credit risk management policy, and external regulatory requirements; documents any exceptions to policy and related rationale/mitigants

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.


Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related fieldMinimum three (3) years underwriting and portfolio management experienceCompletion of a major corporate credit training program (or the equivalent corporate banking/corporate finance experience)Ability to competently complete credit packages and credit services agreements

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

$96,548.10 USD

Median:

$126,050.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:

This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive plan. Employees have the potential to receive a discretionary award based on performance against defined metrics and goals.
