Credit Risk Management Staff Analyst
**Job Posting End Date** 03-06-2025 Please note the job posting will close on the day before the posting end date **Job Summary** We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to help create the future of energy and customer solutions through the administration of the company’s enterprise risk management credit policy to mitigate risks preserving revenues and avoid losses while facilitating business opportunities. Key functions include but are not limited to supporting all AEP business units with most complex transactions while working completely autonomously and determining the financial ability of AEP’s counterparties to deliver contracted products and services and meet payment obligations, negotiation of credit provisions for master agreements, and lead guaranty negotiation, execution, and maintenance to ensure best possible guaranty coverage. **Job Description** **Credit Analysis:** + Perform initial and/or ongoing quantitative and qualitative analysis of customers, suppliers, or counterparties to establish monetary limits, tenor limits, and internal ratings in relation to the purchase or sale of services and commodities. + Review initial and/or ongoing quantitative and qualitative analysis of customers, suppliers, or counterparties to establish monetary limits, tenor limits, and internal ratings in relation to the purchase or sale of services and commodities completed by more junior analyst. **Portfolio Management:** + Monitor monetary limits, tenor limits, and ratings for counterparties. + Monitor industry news to assess any relevant impact on counterparties and identify potential portfolio actions. + Ensure more junior analyst properly monitor monetary and tenor limits, and ratings for counterparties; ensure appropriate action is taken based on industry news. + Supervise, train, and assist in coaching and developing of margin desk personnel and others to ensure performance of margining and related tasks are in a proficient manner. + Maintain data integrity within the credit risk system, including counterparty, contracts, collateral, ratings, and other pertinent information. + Judiciously manage and provide administration of collateral held or posted for counterparties, RTOs, or exchanges, including guarantees, cash, letters of credit, and surety bonds. **Reporting:** + Oversee the preparation of credit risk reports for risk committees, executive meetings, and financial reporting or compliance purposes. **Contracts:** + Negotiate credit provisions for master agreements and supporting collateral documents, such as the collateral annex, guarantees, letters of Credit, netting agreements. Further lead credit discussions and negotiations with external counterparties in support of junior analyst. **RTOs:** + Actively participate through credit working groups to influence credit policies, optimize benefits for the Company, and inform appropriate stakeholders of pertinent developments. **Other:** + Recommend and implement strategies for process and system improvement, including tools and models needed to assess, measure and monitor credit risk. + Oversee/manage all aspects of credit related projects and act as a facilitator across internal/external groups. + Provide input for mid-year and annual performance reviews. + Provide guidance and coaching to junior analysts with respect to CRM Group activities including decision-making, counterparty reviews, and financial reporting; along with cross-functional (i.e. Contracts, MRO, etc.) and non-Credit Risk Groups (i.e. AEP Retail, Procurement, etc.). + Provide general legal support, the research of any matters affecting credit, the drafting of correspondence, and the assist in discovery. + Lead and influence external and internal credit working groups to establish, assess and influence the implementation of appropriate credit policies, mitigation techniques and solutions. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:** + Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting or Associates degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting with two (2) years of experience. + Minimum of eight (8) years of work experience in addition to any experience identified above. **Compensation Data** **Compensation Grade:** SP20-009 **Compensation Range:** $112,869.00-146,730.50 USD **Hear about it first!** Get job alerts by email.
