Together for better. **About the Role:** In this roleprovide an independent review and risk assessment of non-Homogeneous loans, including some of the bank's largest and most complex loans, ensuring adherence to Bank credit policies, underwriting guidelines, and applicable regulations, as well as determining that risk is accurately identified via the Bank's internal loan risk rating system. Periodically also responsible for managing reviews of loan portfolios; coordinating workflow for a team of review officers, summarizing results, and communicating issues of concern to bank senior management + Performs risk analyses to determine financial integrity and identifies potential credit problems. May have assigned oversight responsibilities for junior-level staff. + Examines and evaluates records pertaining to loan documentation and collateral, documenting exceptions and omissions. + Monitors compliance with bank policies and is the final authority on assignment of credit quality loan grade (risk rating) based on the borrower’s ability to pay and the level of credit risk to the bank. Summarizes and documents the facts and findings of reviews. + Reviews recommended loan grade changes for non-Homogeneous loans/commitments to ensure the appropriate Risk Ratings are assigned. + Provides recommendations regarding review frequency and identification of additional potential credit problems. Reviews various reports to monitor and ensure that specified borrowing relationships are reported appropriately. May assist in the review of other assets purchased by the bank, including securities and loan pools and assess the credit quality of those assets. + Plans and conducts loan portfolio reviews, coordinating workflow, ensuring accuracy and completeness of results, summarizing and communicating issues of concern to bank senior management. + Conducts or oversees reviews and examinations of the Bankscommerciallending units. + Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes. + Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training. + Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description. + May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert. + Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words. + Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate. + Embraces our vision to become “Business Bank of Choice” + May perform other duties as assigned. **About** **You:** + Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or equivalent, required. + 7-10 years’experiencein the specialized field of Credit Review or equivalent experience as an examiner with one of the federal regulatory agencies. + CPA or financial industry professional certification, preferred. + Requires wide-ranging and in-depth knowledge of Credit Review practices/techniques, regulatory requirements, and company policies and procedures. + Ability to train and present to small and large audiences. + Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve sensitive situations. + Outstanding financial analytical skills with strong attention to detail. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Proficient using computers and MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. **Travel Type:** Occasional **Job Location(s):** Ability to work fully onsite at posted location(s).
