Credit Union - Compliance Team Lead

Principal Accountabilities:

Collaborate with the Chief Compliance Leader (CCL) to ensure APCI FCU policies, procedures, and processes comply with regulatory requirements. Propose enhancements for compliance policies, procedures, and disclosures. Serve as the Assistant Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer. Perform compliance monitoring tasks on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, in addition to daily/monthly BSA log reviews. Share monitoring outcomes with relevant department managers. Act as a FinCEN contact for BSA-related activities, including filing Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). Assist in developing or updating risk assessments for various credit union activities, including BSA, OFAC, internal operations, retail/electronic services, safeguarding member information, and business continuity. Support investigations and resolutions of both internal and external fraud cases. Stay informed about APCI FCU operations, industry trends, and regulatory developments. Maintain regular communication with the CCL, highlighting any compliance or risk-related issues, irregularities, or developments. Uphold confidentiality standards by ensuring transactions and non-public information adhere to policies and procedures. Complete additional duties and projects as assigned by APCI FCU Management or the Board of Directors.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Preferred: Associate's degree in a business discipline.

Required: At least five years of experience in a compliance/risk management role.

Certifications such as CRCM, NCCO, NCRM, NCBSO, or other relevant credentials are a plus.

Credit union experience is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

Proficiency in lending and deposit compliance, with a strong understanding of BSA.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret credit union laws, rules, and regulations.

Demonstrated capability to simplify complex regulatory topics for both group and individual audiences.

Excellent verbal, written, and group communication skills are essential.

Competencies:

Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skilled in building and maintaining effective relationships with staff, management, volunteers, auditors, and vendors.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail.
